Why a wooden bicycle?
This question is actually best answered from your own reaction. Most people who choose a wooden racing bike do so because the bike is so special. Because let’s face it, the appearance and the looks are special and don’t they just make you happy? It’s something unique. Aluminum and carbon is a material more suitable for mass production. Nevertheless, wood is also a particularly suitable material for a bicycle, when the correct treatments have been applied. And because it is less suitable for mass production, the product remains something special and unique. With this product we hope we can contribute to making the world a little more beautiful and authentic again.
Is wood strong enough?
Simply the answer on this question is: yes! On the area of material strength it is possible to reach the same amount as possible with aluminium assuming equal weight. Do you want to know more about this then we advise you to take a look at the page “Wood advantages“.
What is the weight of a wooden frame/bicycle?
Everything is handmade and the weight is, thanks to the varying density of the material ash, not always exactly the same. We can not tell you exactly what the weight is of your ordered frame. You can count on a weight between 2900 en 3300 gram (size 58cm). A completely build-up bike (without pedals) will be around 10 kilograms (can be lighter, can be heavier, depending on the chosen parts).
Are the bicycles water ressistant?
Sure! The frames have an epoxy coating treatment on the inside and outside. On the outside the frames will be coated with different PU-layers on the end as well. That’s the reason you can safely go on the road in all seasons.. 😉
Can I make a test ride?
Sure, we want to give you this experience. If you want a test ride, we advise you to get in touch with us to make this happen.
Is there a warranty on the bicycles?
If everything is alright, it is you on the bicycle. We deliver the bicycles with 2 years of warranty on defects/fabrication faults. Rotating parts are not included off course.
Ordering
Can I order a bicycle already?
From now on it is possible to place an order. Packages can be chosen or we can come to a unique assembly according to your wishes.
How do I place an order? (not ready: see section above)
On the order page you can fill in the form. Before we go over to a official order we get in contact with you to be sure everything is filled in alright.
How does the payment work after ordering?
Fifty percent (50%) from the agreed order amount will be payed before the build and the remaining amount (50%) will be payed before or during the bicycle delivery.
What is the time of delivery?
Important is that the bicycle is in top condition before it will be delivered to you. We won’t take the risk that you will be slower than your neighbor because of this. We will take the time for this and that can vary. Normally you should count on three months from the moment we receive the first payment. If the process is faster or delayed we will communicate this with you.
Besides this the delivery time is also dependent of the delivery time of external parts (group sets) and when this can be delivered.
I want another size or a unique model?
For this question it is better to get in touch personally. It depends on what you exactly want. There is a lot of work and testing in the current offered models because it is important for us to have a safe product. So please contact us to discuss your question.
